NICE technology assessments
Health Technology Assessment [HTA] is the careful evaluation of a medical technology for evidence of safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness both in absolute terms and in comparison with other competing technologies. HTAs include ethical, legal, social, political, organisational and managerial elements as well as assessments of the costs and clinical effectiveness of a product or service.
Translucency has the background and skills to address these complex issues in the round, ensuring that you deal with all key questions. Translucency helps you through the rigours of an appraisal by an HTA agency such as the UK’s NICE, or a quasi-HTA agency such as a local formulary committee or a regional Development and Evaluation Committee. Though our team of associates we provide similar services across Europe for example supporting CEPP and CEPS applications in France and the KBV innovation service in Germany.
We go further than just preparing documentary submissions. As part of our response to your HTA appraisal challenge, we develop ideas for evidence-based tools for marketing and sales activity, highlighting the true impact of a product in its target environment.
We offer a flexible service tailored exactly to your needs. This may involve commissioning us to produce a complete documentary submission or part of the submission; it may involve us in advising on the best approach for you to take, or commenting on material produced in-house or by other agencies. We may also act on your behalf or support you in challenging decisions by HTA agencies.
